With your guide we will first visit the largest town on the island of Krk, the town of the same name, Krk. Through the old town center from the city gate we reach the cathedral and Frankopanen Kastel (fortress). Along the pedestrian zone, where you will walk along numerous small, nice shops, we end our city tour on the other side of the city or at the main city entrance and the 15th century town hall. After the city tour we have time for a coffee or shopping in souvenirs and Jewelry stores.
Another interesting fact: the island of Krk is shaped like a butterfly's wing
There are more than 1450 species of butterflies on the island of Krk. On the Franciscan island of Košljun there is a museum with a collection of butterfly species from 1700.
On the island we can still see models of old ships from the Kvarner region, folk costumes from the island of Krk, a coin and ceramic collection, various ethnographic exhibits about the work of farmers and fishermen. We reach the islet by boat from the port of Punat (10 minutes crossing). The ship and entrance fees can be booked for an additional charge.
Our last destination is the town of Vrbnik - one of the oldest settlements on the island, also known for its wine - Vrbnička Žlahtina. After a walk, including through the interesting narrow streets, our day ends with a cozy ham, cheese and wine tasting at a family-run business (bookable for a surcharge).
TIP: give your guests something special and original: an autochthonous souvenir from the island of Krk with the trademark "Gift from the island of Krk"
