Upside down world on the island of Losinj: Although “mali” means “small” in croatian and “veli” means “big”, Mali Losinj is the largest place in the archipelago and thus 5,000 inhabitants richer than Veli Losinj. In the course of time, “Little Lošinj” has overtaken its former big brother, but has kept the name.
The architecture of the romantic town is characterized by the magnificent villas of famous captains and testimonies from the Austro-Hungarian period. During this period the island of Lošinj was declared a climatic health resort due to its medicinal herbs and the fresh sea air. The island's largest dolphin sanctuary in Europe is particularly impressive.

DAY 2. City tour Mali & Veli Lošinj
The island of Lošinj has another special feature: a big city called Mali Lošinj (mali = small) ... and a small town called Veli Lošinj (veli = big) ... and numerous other sights and riches. Lošinj is characterized by its special climate, which is why the island developed into a well-known climatic health resort in the 19th century and it has remained so to this day. Mali Lošinj is located in a bay protected from the winds, surrounded by white houses with typical red roofs, a church with a typical bell tower. This is followed by a visit to the Museum of Apoxyomenos. This unique museum is dedicated to the statue of Apoxyomenos, whose story begins at the entrance itself - in the blue room on the ground floor. The nine scenes of the respective rooms enable special sensory experiences so that the visitors can fully experience Apoxyomenos through tasting, smelling, hearing and seeing in an individualized way, as well as the island of vitality itself, which is considered one of the most beautiful travel destinations on the Mediterranean . In the afternoon we go to the Mediterranean garden in Mali Lošinj for refreshment.
Veli Lošinj is a place to fall in love with: colorful houses close together, lively cafes. Behind it, winding streets with smoothly polished cobblestones and palm trees in almost every front yard. The thick, round defense tower "Kula", not far from the harbor, and the baroque basilica of Sv. Antun directly at the harbor basin.
DAY 3. Island tour - Cres and Osor
The history of the islands of Lošinj and Cres is best learned in Osor, where a small bridge connects the two islands. Osor was also named a bishopric and is therefore called a museum town. We walk through the city center and get to know the rich cultural heritage.
Continue to Cres. We walk through numerous narrow streets of the old town, between the narrow and tall houses that are leaned against each other, as a typical example of medieval construction. Coats of arms on the front walls and doorsteps of houses testify to the former way of life of the residents - fishermen, farmers, blacksmiths.
DAY 4. day off or possibility of excursions
