DAY 1: arrival. Welcome drink with our tour guide
DAY 2: Plitvice Lakes National Park
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the national park extends over an area of 266 km². Between fir and beech forests there are 16 lakes, all of which are connected by waterfalls. Guided tour of the lake area on foot, by electric boat and panoramic train.
DAY 3: Brijuni National Park
After breakfast, drive to Fažana from where you will immerse yourself in a completely new world by ship: Brioni Islands. The Brioni have always been an attractive holiday destination for members of the European and global aristocracy. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, many crowned heads and members of the global art elite were staying in this exclusive holiday and health resort. After the islands became the residence of Josip Broz Tito, numerous guests with well-known names arrived again. Sophia Loren, Elisabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Gina Lollobrigida ... are just some of the famous people who promenade on the Brioni.
DAY 4: Risnjak National Park
Today brings you to the so-called "Croatian Switzerland", to the green forests of Gorski Kotar. Risnjak National Park - since 1953. it protects a unique world of flora and fauna. The Risnjak National Park, which attracts its visitors in summer with the green color of its forests, in autumn with its colorful palette and in winter with the white blanket of snow, is only 15 kilometers as the crow flies from the sea and thus forms a natural climate and vegetation boundary between the Coastal and inland areas of Croatia. Ten forest communities grow in the area between Snježnik Mountain and the Kupa River. Rare low mountain plants also thrive here between firs, spruces and pines. The inhabitants of this area include deer, fox, martens, capercaillie, wild boar and chamois. We end the day with reinforcements: Homemade strudel with forest fruits - a specialty of the Gorski Kotar region and enjoy a coffee with it.
DAY 5: Uskok town of Senj and Northern Velebit National Park - Krasno
Morning trip to Senj: The novel "The Red Zora and Her Gang" was written by the author Kurt Held after his stay in Senj before the Second World War and was published for the first time in 1941. On this trip, let's remember the interesting scenes from the Series and set off to find some filming locations. Together with Zora, we start our journey of discovery through the city under the fortress "Nehaj". They are said to have been daring, uncouth and combative warriors, the Uskoks, a small group of approx 1000 farmers who fled from the invading Ottomans to the north of the country in the 16th century, more precisely to the city of Senj, where they built a defiant castle which they named “fear nothing” according to their motto.
After the city tour and free time, the journey continues to Krasno - a small picturesque mountain village in the vicinity of the Northern Velebit National Park, well-known pilgrimage site of Our Lady of Krasno. Hiking from Krasno through the green and wooded slopes to the village of Kuterevo, famous for its carved wood products and excellent cheese. Kuterevo is also known as a place to stay for young bears that otherwise could not survive in the wilderness of the Velebit Mountains. Visit the bear shelter and local farms. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
DAY 6: journey home
